Reserve League Div 2 Round 1 V St. Pats 3/3/13

DuleekBellewstown recorded a fine victory in the opening round of the Reserve League Div 2 encounter over their neighbours St Pats in Bellewstown on Sunday.


The Pats started off the strongest and played most of the football in this interval as they were 0-05 to 0-01 after twenty minutes of play. D/B did not register their first score until the 19th minute and this came from full forward Darren Heeney from a free kick. Further points from Robbie Clarke and Heeney but goals from Cianan Byrne and the impressive Kieron Collins meant that D/B led at the break by three points as the half time score was D/B 2-03 to St Pats 0-06.


Duleek/Bellewstown played the majority of the football in the second half. Points from Darren Mills (0-03) and one each from Darren Heeney, Kieron Collins and Tony Andrews but it was a cool finished goal from Anthony Dowling which secured the three points for the home side as the score finished up D/B 3-09 to St Pats 1-10.


Best for Duleek/Bellewstown were James Murphy and Shane Townley in defence while Kieron Collins and Darren Heeney did well in attack.
