Duleek/Bellewstown  went to Stamullen on Friday evening last knowing that a win would secure a place in the last four of the Division 4 Minor League. Playing with the wind it was the home side that started the best with 2 points in the first 10 minutes of play before Shane Townley got D/B off the mark with a 21 yard free. HALF TIME:     Duleek/Bellewstown  0-03        St. Pats   0-06

The second half started as in the first the Pats got the first 3 scores leaving D/B trailing by 6 points. Duleek/Bellewstown then followed up with 7 unanswered points leaving them a point ahead and looking as if they were going to kick on and win the match when a D/B attack broke down and a Pat’s player picked up possession and went on a 60 yard solo run burying the ball in the back of the net. Minutes later Pats scored an unbelievable 2 more goals and D/B looked dead and buried at this stage. D/B’s Darren Heeney followed up with a goal and a point when Duleek/Bellewstown brought on two forwards with ten minutes to go which seemed to have an impact one of which Stephen Moore got on the end of a pass and fired a left footed shot to the Pat’s net leaving them one point behind. In injury time James Burke got the ball out on the left wing and headed towards the Pat’s goal with the option of kicking it over the bar for a draw match but the youngster held his nerve and blasted the ball to the roof of the Pat’s net. This gave Duleek/Bellewstown a 2 point well deserved victory.
